OCTOBER’S WORD IS: COZY

I’m loving this letter board from Target, and these small autumn arrangements I made from a pumpkin bowl I received as a gift, and faux foliage.

The changing leaves in Sacramento!

For the last few years, I’ve been treating October like my own personal New Year. My birthday is in October, and Tidy Revival’s Birthday is at the beginning of November, so this is a time of year that I purposefully take time out to think about where I’ve been, where I’m going, and what I want to focus on. So - it’s fitting that my first blog post (ever!) is in October.

I have been told for awhile by friends that I should start a blog, and I’ve always been really resistant. I think the story I told myself was that my focus isn’t about writing - it’s about organizing. But over time, I realized that this is a really great way to dive deeper into what I’ve been working on, what I’m excited about, and to tie together the things that we’ll be talking about on social media, and in the newsletter each month.

If I had to choose a word for the month, this month’s word is cozy. This is the this month is when things chilly, when I make some chili… and when I get punny. But seriously - it’s so nice to take a moment and switch over a few decor items to get you in the mood to hunker down at home. That’s why I am super excited this month to bring our readers our 2nd Annual Fall 2019 Home Guide. If you haven’t signed up for the Tidy Revival mailing list, be sure to do so (click the button at the bottom of this post!), and get the Home Guide delivered straight to your inbox. It contains Meghan’s favorite decor tips for fall, as well as the organizational habits that will help you most this fall!

I’m also feeling a little extra chill because I wrapped up some larger projects at the end of September. I recently shared the gallery from Aging UP’s Play to Empower event that took place on Sep. 20th (you can see those photos here). Aging UP has been such an inspiring organization to work with - if you aren’t familiar with them, check out their website here. Their mission is to empower local teens in the foster care system through mentorship and education - they’re doing amazing work in our community. I’m already looking forward to next year!

In the Tidy Revival newsletter this month, we’re sharing tips keeping your trickiest clutter piles clear. This last week, we talked about tips to tame that pesky mail pile (which I talk to clients about A LOT). If you have a clutter pile that keeps reappearing - I would love to hear from you!

On social media, I have another reason to celebrate! Tidy Revival recently reached 1000 followers on Instagram! Check out our post from today, as I’ve tagged a ton of people who have helped me get this far - and this is just the beginning!

Thank you to everyone reading this, or who takes time to send a supportive message. When you’re starting a business, the support you receive from others means SO MUCH. As we’re going into this next cozy season of the year, and as I’m entering year three of Tidy Revival, reflecting on what I’ve learned so far, and what I’m building for the future, I’m feeling so grateful.
